Healthy Cooking

When someone is going through a life threatening illnesses, it can be difficult to find an easily tolerated and healthy diet. A common issue with cancer, in particular, is that treatments often affect taste and appetite. This can possibly result in loss of weight or a deficiency in essential nutrients, leaving patients feeling weaker at a time when they need more strength and energy. For others, treatment can result in unwanted weight gain.

This 6 week course is for patients and carers wanting to explore healthy eating during treatment and recovery.

The Sara Lee Trust is a much needed service for patients who have a medical condition which is severely impacting on their lives. The service is invaluable for providing patients with supportive care either through complementary therapies or counselling, when they are struggling to cope with their situation. Not only is it a great support for the patients but this also extends to family members who are often just as stressed if not more so than the patient.
