Caring Clearance Service

Our Caring Clearance service is available to anyone and can be required for many different reasons, including:

  • Relatives moving into a family’s home
  • Down-sizing
  • Moving into sheltered accommodation
  • After bereavement.
Our service is designed to ensure empathy and respect throughout the process. We ensure that care is taken, not only of the items and property, but also of the family and friends who may need our support at what is often a difficult time.

Items cleared from a property by the Trust will support the charity by being sold through our network of charity shops, which help us to fund our vital services.

We offer two types of clearance service:

  • Selective Removal
Our specially trained team will visit you to assess saleable items. We will then let you know which items we can take and arrange a time for their removal. There is no charge for this service.

  • Complete House Clearance
If you need the property completely clear there will be a fee for this service. Our team will visit to assess the property for saleable and non-saleable items and the fee will be based upon the size of the property, the amount of non-saleable items and the time needed to clear the property.

As the majority of complete clearances we carry out follow a bereavement, we understand that this can be a very difficult time for those involved and our team will approach the job with sensitivity and respect.

You will not need to be present whilst the clearance is taking place. If you would prefer to be absent you can leave the keys with us or alternatively we can liaise directly with solicitors.

To book a clearance service, please contact our Donation Centre (open Monday to Friday, 10am – 1pm) on 01424 272358 or email After contacting us, we will arrange for our team to visit you to assess your needs. Once agreed, we will carry out the clearance as soon as possible.

Please note: We are experiencing a high demand for our house clearance services, which means we will need some notice to be able to assist you. Please bear this in mind when making contact with us.

The support I was given surpassed expectations, especially as it was such a vulnerable time. I like to think they saved me from going through the extreme trauma alone. Family and friends are supportive but having a therapist/counsellor who had the knowledge, expertise and skill appertaining to a life threatening disease was life saving emotionally.
