Fundraise For Us
Apart from a small, but important, grant from Hastings & Rother NHS (Clinical
Commissioning Group), the Trust is totally reliant on donations and
fundraising activity. We have to raise £200,000 per year to fund our
services and are very grateful for the generosity of local people,
businesses, groups and charitable funders whose support enables us to
provide our essential services. We value every donation, no matter how
large or small.
What makes a good fundraising opportunity?
A dinner party, coffee morning, tennis tournament or a dryathlon - these are all fundraisers that have helped us in the past, but the possibilities are endless and you might have some other ideas up your sleeve.
Some things to consider:
- Is it going to be a sponsored activity or are you hosting an event?
- What do you enjoy?
- Where do your talents lie?
- Can anyone help you?
Do think about how much time and effort you are able to spend on planning and organising the event.
5 popular fundraising events
- Dress Down Day
A great and easy way to raise funds for the Trust at your workplace. Each person comes to work in casual clothing and makes a charitable donation for the privilege - the amount is up to you. If your office dress code is casual, then how about a ‘fancy dress day’.
- Bake Sale
Encourage your colleagues to bring in home-baked (or shop-bought) goodies and sell them for a donation to the charity. It’s a simple way to raise money and perk up the morning coffee break. - Quiz Night
Quiz nights are always popular. Why not organise your own and raise funds for The Sara Lee Trust? - Sponsored Anything
Swim, walk, run, silence or pie eating! Most things can be sponsored so the choice is yours. What would your friends and colleagues consider an absolute challenge? We also have many Challenge Events throughout the year. - Party Time
Perhaps a themed dinner party, a murder mystery evening or a barbeque – if it gets people together, it can be a fundraiser. Impress your guests with your hosting skills and charge them a small donation for the food. You can also use the Dinner4Good online invitation and donation system to help you organise your event.
