Become a Fundraiser

We have to raise over 300,000 per year to fund our services and are very grateful for the generosity of local people, businesses, groups and charitable funders whose support enables us to provide our essential services. We value every donation, no matter how large or small.

What makes a good fundraising opportunity?

A dinner party, coffee morning, tennis tournament or a dryathlon - these are all fundraisers that have helped us in the past, but the possibilities are endless and you might have some other ideas up your sleeve.

Some things to consider:
  • Is it going to be a sponsored activity or are you hosting an event?
  • What do you enjoy?
  • Where do your talents lie?
  • Can anyone help you?
Do think about how much time and effort you are able to spend on planning and organising the event.

5 popular fundraising events

  2. Bake Sale
Encourage your colleagues to bring in home-baked (or shop-bought) goodies and sell them for a donation to the charity.
  3. Quiz Night
Quiz nights are always popular. Why not organise your own and raise funds for The Sara Lee Trust.
  4. Sponsored Anything
Swim, walk, run, silence or pie eating! Most things can be sponsored so the choice is yours.
  5. Party Time
Perhaps a themed dinner party, a murder mystery evening or a barbeque if it gets people together, it can be a fundraiser. Host an Afternoon Tea For Sara Lee

The Sara Lee Trust is a much needed service for patients who have a medical condition which is severely impacting on their lives. The service is invaluable for providing patients with supportive care either through complementary therapies or counselling, when they are struggling to cope with their situation. Not only is it a great support for the patients but this also extends to family members who are often just as stressed if not more so than the patient.
