1066 Chapter Donates Christmas Gifts20 December 2022
Enormous thanks to 1066 Harley Davidson Chapter, who visited our Therapy Centre last week to deliver Christmas gifts of pampering and aromatherapy care packs to our service users.
The special cancer-friendly pamper packs were kindly made up by Lindsay at Rock Rose Beauty, who joined us to admire the bikes and help to hand over the gift packs to our service users. The aromatherapy room sprays were mixed by our own therapist Amanda, and purchased by the Harley Ladies Group. Gifts will be handed out to service users attending appointments over the Christmas period. The 1066 Harley Davidson Chapter will also be making a donation in the New Year towards the building of the new Therapy Centre Hallspace. We look forward to welcoming them back. |
SLM reach incredible milestone with their support22 July 2022
The Sara Lee Trust is enormously grateful for the ongoing support of St Leonards Motors Group (SLM), which has now reached an incredible milestone of £32,000 raised since our partnership began in 2015. SLM continues to donate £1 for every car sold in Hastings, St Leonards and Bexhill to help support local people affected by cancer and other life threatening illnesses.
SLM has also been instrumental in helping to leverage further funding over the years from organisations such as Enterprise Car Hire and The Toyota Fund. All funds raised go towards providing specialist counselling, complementary therapy care and group therapeutic activities, for free, to local people living with the effects of a life threatening illness. This year, funds raised by SLM will also support The Trust to build its new Therapy Centre Hall Space in Sidley, Bexhill which will allow us to provide care for even more people each year. Every penny makes a huge difference, and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone at St Leonards Motors Group once again. |
Local MP visits our Centre11 July 2022
Huw Merriman, MP for Bexhill and Battle Constituency, visited the site of The Sara Lee Trust’s Therapy Centre in Sidley to view the site of our new Hallspace, which is due to open in March 2023.
Mr Merriman laid the first brick for the new bespoke hall, a space that will allow us to expand group support and activities so we can help more local people affected by cancer and other life threatening illnesses. Plans are to offer gentle yoga, mindfulness and other group activities in the new building, more than doubling our capacity to support local people in the Bexhill area. The MP, said, “It’s really important that local residents are able to easily access support and therapies which help them with some of the most difficult and challenging health issues they may face. I’m really pleased that The Sara Lee Trust has embarked on this a project to expand their facilities and services in the centre of Sidley where they are accessible to all. It was great to see the project right at the start of the construction process and I’m looking forward to returning in early 2023 to see the finished building.” |
